Description
The U.S. Department of State, U.S. Embassy Quito, Ecuador is seeking qualified offerors for the construction of Antinarcotics Police Facilities at the Guayaquil Port, located in the Guayas Province, Ecuador. The project will be located inside the installation of the Port Authority of Guayaquil. The project consists of approximately 2,600 square meters of office and residential buildings and 545.21 square meters of vehicular inspection area for the Antinarcotics Port Police. The buildings include troop barracks for 74 people, a laundry, kitchen, dining room, conference room, bathrooms, offices, jail cells, kennels, and a vehicle inspection area. The buildings will have facilities that include air conditioning (split system), a communications system, and fire alarms. The project also entails the construction of a potable water system, a sewage and a storm drainage system, and an electrical system that includes one electric generator and relocation of a high voltage line. The solicitation is planned for release on FedBizOpps (www.fbo.gov) on or about May 30, 2009, with award of a contract anticipated in the June/July 2009 timeframe. It is anticipated that construction will start as soon as possible after contract award, with a performance period of approximately two hundred seventy (270) calendar days from contract execution to substantial completion. The resulting contract type will be firm fixed-price, and the estimated value of construction is between U.S. $900,000 and $2,000,000.00. The solicitation will be unrestricted to allow U.S. and non U.S. firms to participate in the selection process. Obtaining the solicitation: The solicitation, including drawings and specifications, will be available for download from FedBizOpps - website: http://www.fbo.gov. The solicitation, as well as all other associated documents for this project, will not be issued on CD unless there are technical difficulties that cannot be promptly corrected on the FedBizOpps website. All notifications of changes to this solicitation will be made through the Internet only. It is the responsibility of prospective offerors to check for any posted changes to the solicitation. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be available for download via the FedBizOpps website on or about May 30, 2009. NO solicitation documents will be mailed, faxed or emailed to prospective offerors. Proposals will be accepted from both U.S. and non U.S. firms; all correspondence will be written in English.
