- The Norfolk District is offering for sale approximately 4,812 tons of standing pine sawtimber, 13,134 tons of standing pine chip & saw, 5,816 tons of standing pine pulpwood, 1,049 tons of standing hardwood sawtimber, and 1720 tons of standing hardwood pulpwood on approximately 516 acres at Fort A.P. Hill, Bowling Green, Virginia. The total number of items for this sale is four (4). The timber to be sold may be inspected by prospective purchasers on June 4 and 5, 2009 starting at 9:30 a.m. Arrangements for inspections should be made by contacting Mr. Paul Carter, telephone (757) 613-7848 or 434 292-2500 or Mr. Larry Capelle @ 804 633-8409. Sealed bids will be accepted until 2:00 p.m., WEDNESDAY, June 10, 2009, by the Acquisition, Management, and Disposal Section, Real Estate Office, Norfolk District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, 803 Front Street, Norfolk, Virginia 23510-1096, and then and there publicly opened and announced. Forms for use in submitting bids may be obtained from Mr. Carter or Mr. Capelle at Fort A.P. Hill or from the Acquisition, Management, and Disposal Section, address shown above. Terms and conditions of sale, procedure for submitting bids, and a description of the timber are contained in the bid forms. All items of this sale will be sold by WEIGHT.
