- Description
- The VA Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre, is seeking sources to provide A/E services to include site investigation, design development, drawings and specifications, cost estimates, construction period services and site visits. The project will include the following: renovate the existing 2nd floor Nuclear Medicine space for the installation of a PET/CT. The project shall include site preparations required for the relocation and incorporation of new and existing equipment. The A/E shall be required to coordinate the design effort around the installation of newly purchased medical equipment which will not be on-site prior to installation. Work under Project # 693-07-138, PET/CT Site Prep, may include architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical/HVAC design for the proposed location. The intent of the project is to provide a modern, functional and aesthetically pleasing space for the efficient and comfortable delivery of services. The design shall be in accordance with VA Space Criteria and VA Master Construction Specifications, as well as all applicable Federal, State and Local codes. The design shall also comply with National Health Physics Program (NHPP) and National Radiation Safety Committee (NRSC) rules and regulations. Work under this project may involve environmental considerations, such as lead paint and/or asbestos removal, which shall be addressed within the design and included within the Construction Bid Package. The estimated construction budget is $500,000 - $1,000,000. This procurement is 100% set aside for service disabled veteran owned small businesses. Firms must be registered in both the Central Contractor Registration database (www.ccr.gov) and the VETBiz Information Pages (www.vetbiz.gov) prior to award. Failure to do so may result in your firm being removed from further consideration. The geographic scope for this acquisition is restricted to firms within 150 driving miles of the VA Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre. Interested firms must submit two (2) copies of SF330 with appropriate documentation to Karen Whalen, Contracting Officer (693/049B), VAMC, 1111 East End Boulevard, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18711 by the close of business June 15, 2009. NAICS Code 541310 applies. This is not a request for proposals. Award is subject to the availability of funds.
