- PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE FOR The Replace Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning in Telephone Room Project at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center, Iron Mountain, MI. Contractor shall provide for and furnish all labor, materials, equipment, temporary protection, qualified supervision, to relocate Library at the VA Medical Center Iron Mountain, Michigan for replace HVAC distribution system for the Telephone Room (B103), the Lan/Wan Room (B105), the Mail Room (B107A), corridor outside these rooms, and outside the building next to rooms B103 & B105 on the basement floor at the VA Medical Center, at Iron Mountain, MI. Work includes removal and replacement of designated existing windows, ceilings, HVAC equipment such as AHU's, condensing units, ductwork, etc with new; including controls. Removal and replacement of designated existing ceiling tile/grid, lights, fire sprinkler pipes including new quick response heads. Work will be in two phases; rooms B103 & B105 are secured areas and will need escort at all times. Work to be completed within 120 calendar days after Notice to Proceed.This construction project is set-aside for Service-Disabled-Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSBs). All prospective contractors must be registered on the VetBiz website, www.vetbiz.gov, to be considered for award. The solicitation, specifications and drawings will be posted on Fedbizops. There will be pre-construction conference held for this project and all prospective bidders are encouraged to attend. Details of the pre-construction conference will be included in the solicitation packages. The solicitation will be issued on/about May 29, 2009 with the bid opening on/about July 1, 2009. The bidder is responsible to monitor and download any amendments from Fedbizops which may be issued to this solicitation. In accordance with Public Law 109-461, the Veterans Benefits, Healthcare and Information Technology Act of 2006. Pursuant to 38 USC 8127(d), competition is restricted to SDVOSB construction firms. The project magnitude range is between $250,000 - $500,000. The North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) for this procurement is 236220; size standard $33.5 Million applies. Time for completion is 90 days after Notice to Proceed. In accordance with FAR 52.204-7, Required Central Contractor Registration and in accordance with FAR 2.101, VAAR 802.101, VetBiz Registration, prospective firms must be registered in Central Contractor Registration (CCR) and in the VetBiz databases prior to award. Firms may obtain CCR information at http://www.ccr.gov and VetBiz information at http://vip.vetbiz.gov.
