Description
STATEMENT OF WORKNUWCBuilding 103: (5) Ductless Split System A/C Installation. DISCRIPTION OF WORK: (1) Contractor shall furnish all labor, management, supervision, tools, materials, equipment, incidental engineering and transportation to install five (5) new (36,000) BTU ductless split systems in building 103 (NUWC). (2)Installer/Contractor will remove the existing (old) evaporators from its present locations and discard.Note: Old condensing units have already been removed and discarded.(3)Installer/Contractor will remove the existing wooden platform that was being used to mount the previous evaporator assembly. The new wooden platforms (both sides of the plexi-glass window) shall be cut to the size of the new evaporator assemblies and shall be a minimum of 1/2" thick. Please contact Paul Cabral (841-2812) for more details at the evaluation site visit.(4) Install new evaporators on the new wooden base platforms. One on the south side, three on the east side and one in the court yard (east side between B-103 and 104)(5) Install new condensing units on the government provided condenser pads.Note: Contractor will have to provide a new condenser pad for the court yard unit.(6) Contractor will wire new units per the manufacturer's specifications and will utilize the existing disconnects with the associated #10 AWG wire for each unit. Note: Contractor shall utilize the existing wiring and disconnects to connect to the new A/C units. There are currently five (5) 30 amp circuit breakers that serve each disconnect and #10 AWG wire provided for each unit per disconnect. If the new units require a lower amps circuit breaker for each unit, it will be the contractor's responsibility to install the correct circuit breaker per the circuit panel's manufacturer.Note: Contractor must lock out each circuit breaker before any work is commenced and the whole panel must be locked out when or if new circuit breakers are to be installed. (7) Contractor shall charge new system with dry nitrogen to check for leaks prior to charging the units with refrigerant R410A. If no leaks are found, contractor shall evacuate system to a minimum of 500 microns.(8)Each A/C system must include a low ambient kit to operate at low ambient temperatures. (9)Installer must seal pipe penetration holes with water proof materials.(10)Contractor is responsible to discard of any and all debris caused by this task. Contractor shall obtain a hot works permit (841-2225) before using any torches and have a fire extinguisher on hand. (11)Contractor shall provide a technician who is certified to handle R-410A refrigerant as is required per 40 CFR 8.2 subpart F, code. (12)Contractor shall operate the unit and check system for optimum performance. Note: The new ductless air conditioning system MUST be made and manufactured by an "American" company/dealer. The contractor is responsible to ensure that the new system is "American" made and the contractor is responsible to purchase the new "American" made A/C ductless split systems per the American government requirements. Note: Installer/Contractor must contact the assigned government inspector to coordinate any outages and must notify the government inspector before any work is commenced. Health & Safety: The contractor shall comply with all applicable federal, State and Local requirements for protecting the safety of the building occupants and employees.
