- Description
- NASA/GSFC has a requirement for cleanroom compatible optical tables. The opticaltables shall meet the following unique requirements: individually-sealed-holeconstruction that is sterilized prior to bonding of cups for high performance cleanroomoperation; steel construction for superior thermal performance and rigid construction,and an internal steel honeycomb size of 0.49 square inches for superior damping andstiffness. The tables required in the following sizes: 4'X10'X12"; 5'X8'X8"; 4'X8'X8";and 4'X6'X8". There is also a requirement for high performance self leveling vibrationisolation systems, second tier shelves, and leveling base plates.NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from TMC (Technical Manufacturing Corporationonly. This company is the only vendor that can meet the requirements.TMD has a unique,individually-sealed-hole construction, that makes it the best option for high-performancecleanroom operation. TMC is the only company with all steel construction in theiroptical tables. The intent is also to match these tables with some pre-existing and/orcompatible tables.Authority is 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) Only one responsible source.this procurement will be processed using FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures.This synopsis shll not be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will theGovernment pay for the information solicited.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local timeon May 27, 2009. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for thepurpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.An Ombudsman has been appointed.
