- Description
- The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Applied Biosystems, 850 Lincoln Centre Drive, Foster City, CA 94404 to purchase an additional Genetic Analyzer/DNA Sequencer Model 3130, which features an array of 16 capillaries allowing for quick data generation. Applied Biosystems shall provide one (1) Genetic Analyzer/DNA Sequencer Model 3130. The Genetic Analyzer shall employ a four color detection system and a 16 capillary electrophoresis system; the ability to interface with in-house equipment and automation system; collect and store data while samples are being processed; allow for primer labeling at either end of the mtDNA genetic location; and installation and training to be provided by Applied Biosystems on site at the Laboratory Building at Quantico. Based on extensive market research conducted with knowledgeable individuals in Government and the related industry, only Applied Biosystems can provide the requested equipment. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive quotations, however interested parties may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement or submit quotes to this office by 3:00 PM, EST, Monday, June 1, 2009, via facsimile to the attention of Ms. Rhonda P. Williams, Contract Specialist, at (703) 632-8480 or by e-mail at Rhonda.Williams@ic.fbi.gov. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This contract will be awarded as a commercial item in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation, Parts 12 and 13. All contractors anticipating award, must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration Database.
