- Description
- The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Field Acquisition Office in Grand Prairie, Texas intends to make a single award for the provision of Dental Assistant Services for the inmate population at the Metropolitan Detention Center located at 80 29th Street, Brooklyn, New York. All duties shall be performed in accordance with standards and methods generally accepted within the dental assistant field, and in compliance with all Federal and State policy and regulations. Services to be provided include: preparing inmate patients to be seen by the dentist, setting up the instrument tray, chair side assist the dentist, triage inmates with dental problems, take dental x-rays of inmates, sterilize equipment, sanitize dental chair, maintain inventory, maintain waiting lists, perform quality control testing on equipment (e.g., autoclave), maintain x-ray equipment and logs, order supplies, record dental information in electronic or paper medical record, and other general duties recognized as routine in a dental clinic. The contract shall consist of a base year with four (4) twelve (12) month option periods for renewal. The maximum estimated quantities for the base and each option year is 1040 one hour sessions per year for each of the two dental assistants. The solicitation will be made available on or about June 4, 2009 and will be distributed solely through the General Administrations Federal Business Opportunities website at http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. Hard copies of the solicitation will not be available. The site provides downloading instructions. All future information regarding this acquisition, including solicitation amendments, will also be distributed solely through this site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. The anticipated date for receipt of quotes is July 1, 2009. Anticipated date of award is July 30, 2009. This solicitation is 100% set-aside for small business concerns. All responsible sources may submit a quote which will be considered. Faith-based and Community-based organizations can submit offers/bids/quotations equally with other organizations for contracts for which they are eligible.
