- Justification for Selection of Dell Equipment The U.S. Department of Commerce, NOAA - ATDD, plans to negotiate with Dell Federal Systems, 1 Dell Way, Round Rock, Texas, to provide one (1) Dell PowerEdge R900 Server, in accordance with FAR 8.404, Using Schedules, part (b) Optional Use, paragraph (3), and FAR 13,303-2(c)(3), Establishment of BPA's. NOAA competitively awarded BPA Number 45AANA704916 to Dell Federal Systems against the GSA FSS GS-35F-4076D contract for workstations, memory, peripherals and installations in accordance with above mentioned FAR Subparts. The Dell PowerEdge R900 Server has four (4) Six-Core X7460 Xeon, 2.67GHz, 16M Cache, 1066MHz FSB or equivalent processors; Memory: 128GB, 32x4GB, 667MHz or equivalent; Operating system: Red Hat Enterprise Linus 5.2AP, x64, 1yr subscription; Hard Drives: RAID-5, internal raw capacity 5TB or equivalent; Network Card: Four (4) Gigabit NICs, TOE Capable; Keyboard and mouse; DVD-ROM; Dual Power Supplies; Hardware Support Services: 4-Year and NBD On-site Service; Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS): 5000VA UPS Rack-mounted. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received by closing date will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Evidence must be provided of ability to provide the required system. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. No written solicitation will be issued.
