- Synopsis for RES-09-133 The NRC is conducting a study to provide contemporary information on risks of cancer in the vicinity of near nuclear power facilities. In support of this effort, the NRC is seeking technical experts in the fields of biostatistics, biological effects of radiation exposure, epidemiology, study design, geographic information systems, and public health to serve on an external peer review committee that would review and comment on study methods, protocols, and deliverables. Under this requirement, the contractor shall provide proposed personnel to be a member or the chairman of the committee. The NRC anticipates making multiple awards for committee members and one award for the committee chairman. The anticipated contract type will be labor hours. The period of performance of the resultant contracts will be two years. The Request for Proposal (RFP) will be available on or about May 30, 2009 and will be distributed solely through the FedBizOpps website, http://www.fedbizopps.gov. The FedBizOpps website provides downloading instructions. All future information about this acquisition, including solicitation amendments will also be distributed solely through the FedBizOpps website. Hard copies of the solicitation document and its related documents will not be available. Because this solicitation and its related documents, as appropriate, will be posted at this website, interested parties are instructed NOT to send letters or e-mails or faxes requesting the RFP. Telephoned, e-mailed, or faxed requests for the RFP will not be accepted. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the FedBizOpps website to assure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. The Government will not reimburse interested parties for any cost associated with responding to this business opportunity. The NAICS code for this solicitation is 541712 (Research and Development in the Physical, Engineering, and Life Sciences). Proposals for this requirement may be submitted by all concerns, i.e., large businesses, small businesses, individuals and small businesses owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals.
