Description
The Social Security Administration (SSA) is conducting MARKET RESEARCH to identify an International Business Machines (IBM) Mainframe Z/OS compatible software product to provide the ability to perform disaster recovery of Customer Information Control System (CICS) Transaction Server (TS) Virtual Storage Access Method (VSAM) files. The software product should accomplish the following: •The capability to restore critical CICS TS VSAM files to a point in time less than one hour from the point of system failure. •Either the software should have the capability to duplicate the critical datasets to remote mirrored Direct Access Storage Device (DASD) or be capable of periodic remote backups that could be recovered with CICS log data containing all updates since the last backup. •Software solution should require minimal overhead to Central Processing Unit (CPU), DASD, storage or bandwidth. Transmission of this data must be compatible with the current SSA supported network protocols. •This software should provide an automated recovery tool to assist recovery from loss of VSAM data due to catastrophic failure or human error. • It must provide for functions such as change accumulation, recovery automation and improved remote site recovery for CICS Transaction Server (TS) and batch VSAM applications. •Automates the recovery process for critical VSAM data from physical and logical corruption. •Recover updates made by CICS transactions or batch applications Key Software Prerequisites: •z/OS V1.10, or later •CICS Transaction Server (CICS TS) for OS/390 V1.3, or CICS TS for z/OS V3.2, or later. 1. The information on the documents shall be able to be redacted to protect Personably Identifiable Information (PII) 2. Software maintenance and technical support shall be provided. 3. A Proof of Concept will be performed on site at SSA Headquarters in Woodlawn, Maryland, prior to award. In addition to the information requested above, vendor responses to this notice should: •Be specific as to the product(s) proposed. •Include a description of how the vendor’s product is commonly sold in the commercial marketplace (e.g., initial price approaches, user license based, transaction based recurring pricing, price policies for solution maintenance, hourly or engagement based services pricing). •Include information on pricing, such as commercial catalogs or price lists. •Indicate whether their services/products are available on GSA Federal Supply Schedules or any other Government-wide Agency Contract (GWAC), and if applicable provide the relevant contract numbers. •Provide examples of relevant corporate past performance information that demonstrates the vendor’s previous success in delivering solutions of similar size, scope, and complexity in the government or commercial marketplace. Any firm that feels they have the capability of providing a product(s) that meets the requirements listed above must respond, in writing, via e-mail to the Contract Specialist by the response due date posted. Vendor submissions of simple marketing materials or brochures, incomplete responses that do not conform to the elements of this request for information, or references to vendor websites will not be considered by the Government. This is not a request for proposal. NO FORMAL SOLICITATION IS BEING ISSUED AT THIS TIME. Requests for copies of a solicitation at this time will not be acknowledged. The Government will not return any information submitted in response to this notice, nor will the Government pay for any information submitted in reply to this notice.
