Description
This is a combined Synopsis/Solicitation for commercial supplies prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.603 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. However, Request for Quotation (RFQ) 09SQ301165 will be issued simultaneously with this announcement to facilitate receipt of electronic quotes. The RFQ will be issued via www.fedbizopps.gov. This RFQ is issued under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP), and is total small business set aside. The NAICS code is 532490, Other Commercial and Industrial Machinery and Equipment Rental and Leasing, and the size standard is $7.0 million. The Bureau of Reclamation Lower Colorado Region, Boulder City, NV, has a requirement for the supply and installation of scaffolding in the Arizona Construction Adit at Hoover Dam. All work shall be performed in accordance with Bureau of Reclamation criteria, will meet all OSHA standards, and the general specifications contained in the Statement of Work. The scaffold will be erected in two adjacent areas. One of the scaffolds must have its design stamped and approved by a PE experienced in the field of scaffold design and erection. 1. Work Location:The scaffolds will be erected in the Arizona Construction Adit which is located at the downstream end of the Arizona Powerhouse. 2. Agency Work includes:The Agency will supply 120V AC electrical power and lighting as needed. 3. Vendor's Work includes:The vendor shall furnish and install two separates scaffolds. The first scaffold will be the one requiring the PE approval as mentioned above. Most of this scaffold will be erected using part of the canopy over a treatment plant tank as its support. It will be approximately 15 feet high and will have a work platform on top measuring approximately 4 by 10 feet. The second scaffold will be approximately 35 feet log and approximately 20 feet high. It will utilize some existing pipe hangers for stability and support. The adit floor under this scaffold is sloped. The scaffold must allow for continued operation of the sewage treatment facility. The scaffold will be used for a period of 2 to 4 months. The contractor will be given notice and must remove the scaffold within 5 days after that notice. 4. Period of Performance:The successful quoter will be required to install the scaffold on June 1, 2009. Both installation and removal will be between the hours of 7:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. PDT, with removal Monday through Thursday. A site visit is scheduled for May 14, 2009, 9:00 A.M., PDT. Prospective quoter's will meet at the Winged Figures of the Republic at Hoover Dam off of Highway 93, at 9:00 A.M. and will be escorted to the jobsite from that point. Attendee's may park in the Nevada parking garage for a fee of $7.00, or may park in Arizona lots, past the dam for no charge. Please keep in mind that the walk back to the meeting site will take approximately 15 minutes. Wear comfortable clothing and walking shoes for the site visit, as there will be a lot of walking.
