- GALENA OVERLOOK IN APPROXIMATELY 20 DAY’s, THE SOLICITATION FOR THIS CONSTRUCTION PROJECT WILL BE AVAILABLE TO VIEW AND PRINT. This project consists of reconstructing the Galena (Frank and Bethine Church) Overlook located on the Sawtooth Scenic Byway (state highway 75) in the Sawtooth National Recreation Area on the Sawtooth National Forest approximately 30 miles north of Ketchum, Idaho. The work shall include: demolition and disposal (or salvage) of existing facilities (plaza concrete, retaining walls, parapet walls and mortared stone, restrooms, water system, signs, bulletin boards, barrier rocks, etc.); preserving and protecting existing vegetation on the site, saw cutting and removing sections of the existing asphalt surface roads and parking areas; patching, leveling and extending select areas of the parking lot; overlaying the existing parking lot, parking stalls, and parking areas; constructing colored/stamped concrete islands; constructing new curb and gutter with catch basins; constructing a new colored concrete overlook plaza with ramps, sidewalks and site furnishings (benches, viewing scopes, illustrative/information panels, railings); constructing other site features such as: traffic control signs, paint striping, retaining wall, and major site I.D. signs.
