- FBO Special NoticeThis is not a request for proposal or a request for quote. There is no solicitation document available. This is a notice of intent of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) at Austin Information Technology Center (AITC) to negotiate a sole source contract with Northrop Grumman Information Technology (NGIT), for software and associated maintenance for VERITAS and POWERPATH software. Software maintenance includes reasonable technical support and periodic updates/releases to the software. VERITAS and POWERPATH is available on SEWP, however, it will be acquired from Northrop Grumman I.T., Inc. via the AACES Prime Vendor Contract V200P-909. AITC has an existing VERITAS and POWERPATH licensing agreement through NGIT for all VERITAS and POWERPATH products with terms and conditions the AITC needs for its disaster recovery/continuity of business program operations. It is in the best interest of the Government to acquire the products through this vehicle to ensure consistent terms and conditions in licensing and maintenance, and to take advantage of administrative cost savings obtained from having all products licensed and maintained through a single vendor. The strategies are in the best interest of the Federal government and the price is fair and reasonable. The statutory authority for this sole source procurement is 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1). This procurement is being conducted using FAR Part 12 procedures. Please reply no later than May 15, 2009 to Sylvia Thomas at (512) 326-6877.
