- SCOPE OF WORK PROJECT OFFICE ADA REMODEL FRONT ENTRANCE AND UNISEX RESTROOM HARLAN COUNTY LAKE 2009 The following is a list of specification and scope of work for an ADA construction upgrade at Harlan County Lake Project Office. Project Overview - To meet ADA compliance a new entrance door, frame, and side lights will be installed in the front entrance of the Harlan County Lake Project Office. This door will meet all necessary ADA requirements and will be of similar style to the current door (glass type, security feature, etc.) and match existing building rough opening specifications. The door will also be installed with a wireless ADA access door opener and hardware. Door opener push pads will be installed on an interior wall in the office, and exterior pedestal. The pedestal will meet ADA requirements, and be of similar construction to the office building. All materials and labor will be provided by the contractor. The contractor will be required to protect other office areas including but not limited to floors, walls, windows, and ceilings from construction dust and debris. All construction and demolition debris must be removed by the contractor. Attached description photos show the existing front office door and interior restroom. ALL ITEMS SHALL MEET ADA COMPLIANCE- Existing Door Removal Remove existing front office door, side lights, door frame, and hardware. Door and Side Lights Contractor Provided Materials and Install ITEM DESCRIPTION 1 Kawneer ADA Door, Entrance, and Side lights or Equivalent Manufacturer 2 Glass - Thermal break for 1 glazing, Solar Cooled 1 thermal glazed, Tempered. 3 Door Finish Match existing door finish or Kawneer Bronze #40 finish 4 Door Handles - ADA standard push/pull door handles 5 Cylinder Door Lock 6 Door Sweep 7 ADA accepted Door Threshold Opener, Push Pads, Exterior Pedestal ITEM DESCRIPTION 1 ADA Stanley 36 Magic Access Opener or Equivalent Manufacture 2 Wireless ADA push pads 3 Exterior Pedestal mounted push pad (specific installation location obtained from Harlan County Lake Project Office Staff) UNISEX HANDICAP ACCESSABLE BATHROOM REMODEL Project Overview- To meet ADA standards, the existing mens restroom at the US Army Corps of Engineers Harlan County Lake Project Office will be retro-fit to meet the requirements for a Unisex ADA Restroom. The restroom door will be removed and a new handicap door and frame will be installed to meet width requirements for an ADA Unisex Restroom. The door, door frame, and door trim pieces will be of similar wood build as the existing door, and should match door stain and finish. The door will also be installed with a wireless powered ADA access door opener and hardware. Door opener push pads will be installed on an exterior wall of the restroom, and interior wall of the restroom. On the restroom interior an existing partition will be removed. Additionally a mirror will be lowered and reinstalled above the restroom sink. Standard ADA grab bars will be installed on the side and rear of the restroom toilet. Restoration - After door, sink, and grab bar installation is completed the contractor will need to repair or replace any tile or drywall damaged during the construction. Wall and floor tile should match or meet a similar design to the existing tile or design type. Drywall should also be finished and painted to match existing construction type or design of the restroom. Trim pieces around the door should be replaced and matched to door type. All materials and labor will be provided by the contractor. The contractor will be required to protect other office areas including but not limited to floors, walls, windows, and ceilings from construction dust and debris. All construction and demolition debris, including remaining new construction debris, must be removed by the contractor.
