Description
The Naval Sea Systems Command is seeking potential sources with AN/BQQ-10 Acoustic - Rapid Commercial-off-the-Shelf Insertion (A-RCI) knowledge, capability, and interest to develop, integrate, and produce the AN/BQQ-10 Technology Insertion (TI) 12 with Advanced Processor Build (APB) 11, TI12 with APB13, TI14 with APB13, and TI14 with APB15. A-RCI is a sonar system that integrates and improves towed array, hull array, sphere array, and other ship sensor processing, through rapid insertion of COTS based hardware and software. The A-RCI program follows a spiral development model for rapid COTS insertion. Every even year, the hardware baseline is modified to incorporate new Technology via a Technology Insertion (TI). Every other year (in the odd years) the system software must be modified to accept new Advanced Processor Build (APB) software, which may require firmware and/or hardware changes. The Navy expects to award a contract for this effort in or around mid-2010, with! first deliveries in January 2013. The Navy expects to procure approximately 12 systems per year over a four year period under the base portion of this future contract. This future contract is anticipated to include a base year, four option years, and the potential to be awarded five additional award term years. This will be a full and open competition. The Navy intends to issue a Request For Proposal (RFP) in the June/July 2009 time period. Industry Day is scheduled to be held on Tuesday May 19, 2009 at 1000 hours. The location is the Best Western Springfield 6721 Commerce Street Springfield, VA 22150. Interested organizations should RSVP their information to Mr. Peter Richmond no later than 18 May 2009. Please limit attendees to no more than 2 persons per organization.Contracts point of contact is Mr. Peter Richmond, SEA 02623.Phone: (202) 781-3920Email: peter.richmond@navy.mil
