- The Bureau of Reclamation, Lower Colorado Region has a requirement for the assessment, maintenance, repair and testing of various sized cranes in and about Hoover Dam. Principal features of the work include, but are not limited to: a)Assessment of crane components in the unloaded condition.b)Assessment of crane components under load including load test.c)Inspection and lubrication or replacement of main load cables.d)Inspection and adjustment or replacement of brake pads and/or brake assemblies.e)Maintenance, repair, and replacement of control systems.f)Repair or replacement of crane rails, wheels, and trolleys.g)Repair or replacement of gearbox componentsh)Repair or replacement of other crane components as described in the individual Task Order. The Government anticipates awarding multiple Indefinite Delivery-Indefinite Quantity type contracts for a five year period without options. Fixed-price delivery orders will be issued as required to maintain, assess, repair and/or test the cranes. The estimated magnitude of each task order is $2,000 to $500,000 with a total contract value of all contracts awarded estimated at $5,000,000.00 The work will be performed at Hoover Dam near Boulder City, Nevada and 32 miles southeast of Las Vegas, Clark County, Nevada. This requirement will be solicited as a total small business set-aside. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this acquisition is: 333923 Overhead Traveling Crane, Hoist and Monorail System Manufacturing. The small business size standard for NAICS Code 333923 is 500 employees. The solicitation, in the form of a Request for Proposal (RFP), will be issued on or about June 1, 2009 with offers due thirty (30) days after. No documents will be available until the solicitation is issued. The solicitation will only be issued electronically via www.FedBizOpps.gov. The solicitation drawings, if any, may be issued either electronically or on CD media depending on the number of drawings issued. The Government reserves the right to issue the solicitation on paper or CD if the FedBizOpps (FBO) website becomes inoperable or if the Contracting Officer determines it is in the Government's best interest to do so. Offerors should register at the FBO to be included on the offeror list in order to receive notifications pertaining to the solicitation, or visit the FBO website after issuance to download the solicitation and any subsequent amendments. Offerors are required to have a current registration on the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) to be eligible for contract award. Offerors may register on CCR at http://www.ccr.gov.
