- TACOM Contracting Center-Rock Island is seeking sources interested in providing design/build services to construct a room around and enclose a Titanium Furnace (85 lb Vacuum Induction Skull Melting (ISM) Furnace, by Consarc Corporation) to be installed and located at the Joint Manufacturing Technology Center (JMTC) of Rock Island Arsenal, Rock Island, IL. The services of a licensed fire protection engineer will be required. Services include a review of the existing room construction, determine which codes govern the installation and operation of a titanium furnace, then recommend whatever modification to the building is necessary to ensure that the final installation of the titanium furnace is safe and code compliant. The code review will include, but not be limited to, NFPA 484 Standard for Combustible Metals and NFPA 86 Standard for Ovens and Furnaces. Interested firms to provide a synopsis of their company along with their capabilities and years of experience in performing the above listed work as the primary contractor.
