- Solicitation will be uploaded approximately May 19, 2009. Contractors will have electronic access to this solicitation at this website. No hard copies will be mailed. Technical questions should be addressed to the contact listed in the solicitation when it becomes available. The intent of this contract is to collect locally adapted native seed. The collection project will include collection and initial course cleaning of seeds from general or common (i.e., non-Species of Concern) native herbaceous, graminoid, and shrub species identified in the solicitation package. The project will be located within five National Forests, primarily focused around the Lake Tahoe region. National Forests include: Tahoe NF on the Truckee Ranger District, Eldorado NF on the Amador and Placerville Ranger Districts, Humboldt-Toiyabe NF on the Carson Ranger District, Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit, and Inyo NF on the Mammoth Ranger District. As required by the Migrant and Seasonal Agricultural Worker Protection Act (MSPA), contractors offering on this project must be registered as Farm Labor Contractors with the U.S. Department of Labor, Wage and Hour Division. Please contact your local Wage and Hour Division office (www.dol.gov) for specific information on the MSPA requirements. Bid closing date will be approximately June 9, 2009.
