Description
The FAA intends to solicit and award a firm-fixed price contract to a Structural Steel Contractor to perform fabrication and construction of structural steel modification to the Air Traffic Control Tower to support the installation of the Isolation Dampening System and SMR Antenna. This is Phase II (2) of the Airport Surface Detection Equipment (ASDE-X) to serve Chicago Midway Airport, Chicago, Illinois. The contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, fabricated materials, permits, and equipment to perform the project in accordance with the contract provisions, specifications and drawings. Refer to the specific Statement of Work(SOW), herewith attached. The work will be performed in strict accordance with the contract drawings and specifications. TOTAL SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE NAICS is - 238120 Structural Steel & Precast & 332312 - Structural steel, fabricated, manufacturing- Estimate price range: $100,000 and 250,000.00 Performance Time: 30 calendar days with an anticipated start date July 2009. INTERESTED FIRMS MUST HAVE SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED SIMILAR PROJECTS BOTH IN DOLLAR AMOUNT AND SCOPE OF WORK AN OFFER MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING GO/NO-GO CRITERIA IN ORDER TO RECEIVE A SOLICITATION PACKAGE: A.Must complete and return the attached Business Declaration.B.Offerors must have the following minimum experience and provide the following information to substantiate the experience: a listing of at least 3 past or current contracts/projects your firm performed in the same size ($100,000 -$250,000.) and scope of this project. Contracts/projects must be either in process or within the last 5 years. See SOW. You must provide references project/contract identifier, point of contact and phone number. The information provided will also be used as part of the responsibility determination. Note: Contractors must have active registration in Central Contractor Registration (CCR) before award can be made. Contractors can register at www.ccr.gov/.C.You may fax your letter of interest and attachments including the firm's name, address, phone number, fax number, and point of contact by no later than May 11, 2009, 2:00 p.m.(CT). FAILUrE TO SUBMIT ALL REQUIRED INFORMATION WILL DEEM THE REQUEST FOR SOLICITATION AS NON-RESPONSIVE. This notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, has programs to assist small businesses, small businesses owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment, and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT short Term receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $750,000.
