- Description & Location: Requirement for a contract to treat invasive plants using broadcast herbicide on nine grasslands on the Finger Lakes National Forest in New York. Species to be treated include Bull and Canada thistles as well as spotted, brown, and meadow knapweeds. Stinger brand (Dow AgroSciences) herbicide will be used. The pesticide applicator must be appropriately licensed through the NYS DEC. Work will occur between June 22, 2009 and July 15, 2009. Total acres to be treated is not currently known but is estimated to be around 1,000 acres. A full solicitation package will be posted to this site on or around March 30, 2009. This package will include the work specifications and instructions for submitting an offer. Due date for quotes has been extended until close of business on May 15, 2009.
