- Description
- The Department of Homeland Security/Immigration and Customs Enforcement/Federal Protective Service intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Alaska Communications Systems Holdings, Inc. (ACS) to acquire cellular and blackberries services for the Alaska Northern Command Post. The proposed action is for supplies/services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b), Soliciting from a single source. For purchase not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold, Contracting Officers may solicit from one source if the Contracting Officer determines that the circumstances of the contact action deem only one source reasonably available. The reason justifying this sole source procurement is the Government believes that ACS is the only one responsible source that can provide extensive coverage including the road system, Southeast Alaska, North Slope including Barrow for the Alaska Northern Command Post. Any firm that believes it can furnish the items described above is encouraged to give written notification to the Contracting Officer. Supporting evidence must be furnished, in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. All responses received within 5 days of the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Responses should include the firm's business size [e.g. small business, other than small business] in accordance with the size standard: 1,500 for North American Industry Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 517210.
