Description
Amendment 0002 Amendment 0002: The purpose of Amendment 0002 is to update the interested vendors list for the GOES-R Ground Antenna System RFI. The interested vendors for Solicitation # 1162009 are listed in the attached Microsoft Word document. END AMENDMENT 0002 Amendment 0001: The purpose of Amendment 0001 is to open the interested vendors list for the GOES-R Ground Antenna System RFI. The interested vendors for Solicitation # 1162009 are listed in the attached Microsoft Word document. END AMENDMENT 0001 PROVIDED BELOW IS THE DESCRIPTION POSTED ON JANUARY 16, 2009 FOR THE GOES-R GROUND ANTENNA SYSTEM RFI. The Department of Commerce (DOC) National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) is pleased to issue this Request for Information (RFI) for an Antenna System to support the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellites R series (GOES-R) Program. The Antenna System is being procured in a contract separate from the GOES-R Satellite and Ground Segment contracts. The Antenna System includes the design, fabrication, and test of five (5) new antennas and the upgrade of six (6) antennas. The antennas will be installed at three different sites: Wallops, Virginia; Suitland, Maryland; and a Remote Backup site in the vicinity of Fairmont, West Virginia. The Government intends to acquire the Antenna System products and services through full and open competition conducted under FAR Part 15. The Government envisions the award of a single contract. The GOES-R Antenna System acquisition is in the market research phase, and this RFI is issued for the purpose of seeking sources and looking for alternative technical approaches. The RFI invites potential prime offeror teams to submit information by February 17, 2009, and request one-on-one discussions with NOAA.
