Description
FT. YUKON TOWER REPLACEMENT: The Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, supplies, transportation, permits, and services necessary to perform engineering design, fabrication, and construction of a self supporting telecommunication tower including geotechnical, foundation, grounding system, site fencing, and all appurtenances at the Alaska Fire Service Fort Yukon fire base. The Contractor shall install government furnished antennas and Contractor furnished transmission lines but shall not make connections to existing radio equipment. The Contractor will not be required to perform final testing and tuning of the antennas. The contractor shall demolish and remove two existing antenna towers as part of this project. Existing antennas and radio equipment support critical communication to aircraft, fire fighters, and other agencies. Communication facilities will remain operational during the work. Replace two towers at the same site that cannot be climbed. The new towers shall provide safe, maintainable, engineered solutions in support of BLM telecommunication operations. The work is located in Yukon-Koyukuk County, AK THIS REQUIREMENT IS OPEN TO BOTH LARGE AND SMALL BUSINESSES UNDER THE SMALL BUSINESS COMPETITIVENESS DEMONSTRATION PROGRAM. The estimated price range is between $250,000 and $500,000. The anticipated period of performance is 180 calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed. Bonds will be required as follows: Bid Guarantee: 20% of the bid price, Payment and Performance bonds: 100% of the contract price. The solicitation documents will be posted on or about May 14, 2009. The solicitation and associated specification and drawings will be available by electronic posting only and may be found at www.fedbizopps.gov and then follow the link to www.fedconnect.net. Bidders will be required to print the bidding documents for submission of their bids. Contractors are required to register or update their registration at the Central Contractor Registration website at www.ccr.gov in order to receive a contract award under this solicitation, register or update their registration at the Online Representation and Certification Application website at http://orca.bpn.gov, and the FedConnect website at http://fedconnect.net.
