Description
This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Naval Sea Systems Command. Note: The Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport, Rhode Island is NOT accepting quotes or proposals via submission through NECO. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport intends to award on a sole source basis a Firm Fixed Price type contract to Argon ST, Inc of Newington, VA. The procurement is to upgrade two ADF antennas (Argon P/N 021591AD-1) into two Patriot Antennas (Argon P/N 022950AD-1). Argon ST has successfully completed Government testing for Patriot Antennas (P/N 022950AD-1). To award to any other vendor would require incorporating a new antenna assembly into the current data packages, First Article Testing and require the Government to develop an engineering update to the current data package which would create delays and be cost prohibitive. The proposed contract action is for supplies and services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive ! proposals. A Determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Additional details will be provided upon issue of RFQ N66604-09-Q-3322, which is anticipated to be on or about 05/15/2009. Defense Priorities and Allocations System (DPAS) rating of DO-C9 applies. For information on this acquisition please contact Michael Broomfield at 401-832-8469, michael.h.broomfield@navy.mil.
