- The purpose of this REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) is to determine if there are suppliers satisfying the Government request below. THIS IS NOT AN INVITATION FOR REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP). NO PROPOSALS are requested or will be accepted under this RFI and no award will be made for this effort at this time. The Joint Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) Vehicle Program Office is soliciting information and interest from companies capable of providing Commercial Push-To-Talk (PTT) Adapter Kit that can work with both internal and external tactical communication systems such as tactical portable radios, TOCNET and VIC-3, and Active Noise Reduction (ANR) headsets. A PTT Adapter Kit Procurement effort has been established to procure approximately 2400 PTT Adapter Kits for the MRAP Cougar vehicle. The PTT Adapter Kit will interface with the MRAP vehicle intercom systems (TOCNET and VIC-3); military tactical portable radios (PRC-148, PRC-152, and PRC-153) and tactical ANR head! sets [Racal (NSN: 5965-666-5770), Bose (NSN: 5965-01-521-0941), MK-1697/G (NSN: 5965-00-313-8958), etc]. Each PTT Adapter Kit includes: One (1) PTT Adapter; either One (1) portable radio cable harness compatible with PRC-148, PRC-152, and PRC-153, or three (3) separate cable harnesses to connect each radio to the adapter; either one (1) cable harness (extendable to fifteen (15) ft) compatible with the TOCNET and VIC-3 or two (2) separate cable harnesses (extendable to fifteen (15) ft) for each intercom system and technical manual. PRODUCT REQUIREMENTS: The PTT Adapter Kit will be judged using the following Government performance requirements: weight (1.0 lb) excluding cables, operating voltage (up to 24 VDC), portable radio selector/keying switch, intercom selector/keying switch, intercom microphone on/off switch, environmentally sealed portable radio port connector (AJ-117LR or equivalent), environmentally sealed intercom port connector (AP-107 or equivalent), operating te! mperature (-46 C to +71 C), EMI (MIL-STD-461E: CS114, CS115, CS116, RE102, RS101, and RS103), ESD (MIL-STD-464A, Paragraph 5.7), relative humidity (95%, non-condensing), vibration (MIL-STD-810G, Method 514, Category 4), blowing rain (MIL-STD-810F, Method 506.4), sand and dust (MIL-STD-810G, Method 510.4), combination of dust and rain (MIL-STD-810G, methods 506.4 & 510.4),shock drop (6 ft (1.829 m), altitude (14000 ft), salt fog (5 1% sodium chloride), temperature shock (MIL-STD-810F, Method 503.4),immersion (MIL-STD-810F, Method 512.4),contamination by fluids (MIL-STD-810F, Method 504.4), fungus (MIL-STD-810F, Method 508.4), explosive atmosphere (MIL-STD-810F, Method 511.4), environmental region (All). SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS: A data package detailing the vendor POC, unit cost, CAD drawing, and vendor complete certifications are due two (2) weeks from the date of this posting. Submissions should include information of business size as the Government is considering a total small business set-aside for this effort.
