Description
ISSUE DATE: 5/8/2009. Contractor to provide all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, supervision and disposal necessary for Fire Alarm Replacement with Mass Notification System at U.S. Coast Guard Academy, New London, CT (New London County). Phase 1 of the work consists of disabling the existing Grinnell Autocall hardwired fire alarm central reporting system and communication loops and installing an integrated wireless fire alarm reporting system with integrated mass notification system along with two system command and control areas. Replace the existing Grinnell Autocall hardwired fire alarm central reporting system and communication loops with a wireless reporting system. Provide two sets of central alarm reporting command and control consoles complete with computers, radios, printers, microphones, displays to provide fire alarm reporting along with command and control for integral mass notification system (fixed and live voice message) for campus wide operation. The communication shall be by licensed wireless services. Provide wireless transceivers and interface to 28 existing fire alarm control panels located in 28 buildings. Provide antennas, antenna mounts and RF cables for each transceiver. Provide grounding and bonding for transmitting equipment along with antenna ground electrode and down conductors. Supply seven (7) spare transceivers with antennas, antenna mounts and RF cables. The estimated cost range of this project is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Solicitation packages will be available on or about 5/8/2009. The bid opening date is scheduled for 6/8/2009 at 2:00 p.m. The performance time period is anticipated to be 45 weeks from issuance of Notice to Proceed. This solicitation is issued in accordance with FAR Part 19 and is 100% set-aside for small business concerns. The applicable NAICS code is 238210 and the size standard is $13 million.
