Description
The VA Medical Center in Louisville, Ky is seeking the services of a qualified Contractor to furnish all labor, material and expert supervision needed to renovate approximately 7,000 square feet in the Veterans Administration Medical Center Louisville, 4th Floor South for a Surgical Intensive Care Unit and 1,645 square feet on 3rd Floor North for a temporary SICU and Pain Clinic in accordance with the plans and specifications for the SICU Renovation, VA project #603-317. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to reconfiguring the space containing the existing SICU and expanding the SICU into the Pain Clinic space. This project will add a patient room, add ante rooms, create isolation rooms, create storage rooms, expand the nursing station, add a conference room, expand the waiting room, add a family conference room, reconfigure the staff locker rooms, and incorporate the Planetree healthcare model in the layout and finishes. Construction work includes a construction lift to the 4th floor, demolition of the existing SICU and Pain Clinic and asbestos abatement within the construction area and in the 3rd floor ceiling below the construction area, general construction, masonry, metals including structural supports, wood and plastic, thermal insulation, new doors and door hardware including glass and automatic doors, new finishes throughout, room signage and other specialty work, equipment installation and testing including a new headwall system with service arms in each patient room, case work including patient care units in each room, fire suppression, plumping including medical gasses and patient care units in each patient room, a new HVAC system, electrical including normal and emergency power and energy efficient lighting, communications including data and nurse call systems, electronic safety and security and necessary removal of existing structures and construction and certain other items. Performance period to complete this project is 365 days from receipt of Notice to Proceed. The Contractor shall warrant that all work performed under this project conforms to VA and industry standards. Firms desiring consideration should respond to the Solicitation Notice to be posted on or before May 15, 2009. All bidding materials, drawings, specifications will be available at the time the Solicitation is announced for download from the website at www.fbo.gov. This procurement will be a Set Aside Pursuant to 38 U.S.C. 8127 (d). NAICS code is 236220 is applicable to this Solicitation. The Small Business Size Standard is $33.5 Million Dollars. Any amendments to this solicitation will be available at the URL address and Offerors are advised that they are responsible for obtaining amendments to this solicitation at the Fedbizopps website prior to the time of responding to any solicitation.
