- "The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only limited sources under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. This is a limited source procurement. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within 2 days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement." This procurement N40443-09-T-3039 is to provide the services of an OEM certified contractor, capable of providing the parts required for the Auxiliary Diesel Generator (ADG). OEM authorized parts are the parts acceptable for the MAN B&W auxiliary diesel engines installed on the T-AH class vessels. There are known to be only 2 qualified OEM authorized sources for the required parts. Procurement is limited to OEM parts only. Such restriction carries with it the capability to ensure no loss of warranty after completion, for the safe use by the USNS MERCY T-AH 3. Substitute materials will not be accepted. All requests must provide Duns & Bradstreet number, and CAGE Code and Tax Identification Number. All faxed requests must include an E-Mail address. The estimated issue date for this solicitation is 23 April 2009. Firm Fixed Price offers are due not later than 11:00 AM (PST) 27 April 2009 unless a later date is specified in the solicitation. The government intends to make an award on or about 28 April 2009. Contractors offering in response to this notice shall ensure registration in the Central Contractor Registration Database prior to submission for consideration. This requirement will be procured under FAR Part 12. Once solicitation is posted, it can be viewed on this website or in the Contracts Section of the MSC Website.
