- This announcement is a Request for Information (RFI). This is not a request for proposal and no award will be made as a result of this announcement. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), VISN 8, VA Medical Center in West Palm Beach, 7305 North Military Trail, West Palm Beach, FL 33410 is seeking preliminary marketing information from prospective contractors to provide, install, and implement a Patient Wandering System. Project information: "System to be installed on 6th floor of Medical Center. "Approximate floor coverage is 30,000 SF. "Number of doors requiring monitoring: 5 doors 9 stairwells, and 10 elevators, or we may decide to monitor the four lobby elevators in lieu of doors. "Maximum number of patients requiring monitoring is 66. System requirements: "Must be capable of identifying the patient and time when patient passed through doorway. "Must be capable of alerting nursing station when patient has passed through doorway. "Must be capable of alerting nursing station when patient has removed or damaged monitoring device. "Must be capable of future expansion to additional doors in building. "PC based operation. "Service provider will be responsible for installation of system, training personnel, and servicing equipment. "GSA approved supplier preferred.
