Description
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) National Institute Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) has a requirement to procure the services of Dr. John Stokes, Department of Medicine, University of Iowa, serving as chairman of the steering committee of the Steering Committee of the AKI Natural History Study. The duties of the chairperson of the Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) Steering committee will: Convene conference calls of the AKI Executive Committee one per month. Each call is expected to last for an hour; Convene and run a meeting of the Steering Committee approximately every 2 months for the first 6 months, and every 3-6 months there after. Each meeting will last for a day and a half; review recruitment data and discuss recruitment and retention strategies with the program office; review the proceedings and recommendations from all subcommittees, and discuss further plans with subcommittee chairpersons and the program office; act as a spokesperson for the AKI Natural History Study at major national and international meetings, and will frequently be called upon to represent and discuss the conduct of the trial by the press and other community organizations; Represent the AKI Natural History Study Steering Committee at the meetings and conference calls of the Data and Safety Monitoring Board (DSMB). One face-to-face meeting and two to three conference calls are expected during the coming year. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, however, all responses received, before the closing date, of this announcement will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed acquisition is based upon responses to this notice and is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. It is anticipated that the Request for Quotation (RFQ) NIH-DK-09-0044 will be available fifteen (15) days after the release of the RFQ. Receipt of quotations will be due ten (10) days after the release of the RFQ. Request for copies of the RFQ must be in writing to the National Library of Medicine, 6707 Democracy Boulevard, Two Democracy Plaza, Room 773, Bethesda, MD 20817 Attention: V. Lynn Griffin. FAX quotations must contain offerors name, address, telephone number and fax number. FAX quotations will be accepted if dated and signed by an authorized company representative. FAX NUMBER 301-480-8501. All requests for quotation must include a valid email address. PLEASE NOTE: In order to receive an award, contractor must be registered and have valid certification in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) http://www.ccr.gov.
