Description
The U.S. Army CECOM Contracting Center, Fort Monmouth NJ, 07703, intends to award a twenty-three month (23) modification to a Cost-Plus-Fixed-Fee (CPFF) Contract up to $7,500,000.00. The contract is DAAB07-03-C-K619 with Teledyne Scientific & Imaging LLC (Teledyne) for continued research, development, and testing efforts associated with Phase III of the Adaptive Focal Plane Array (AFPA. The period of performance for this contract must be extended because of the Army's requirement for a multiple band Focal Plane Array (FPA) format, which permits wide angle, rapid search, and long range identification. Additionally, the proposed action will further develop an AFPA camera that will be field tested, to demonstrate the acquisition of tactical targets in challenging background scenarios. Field testing of the AFPA camera is part of the scope of work to ensure that this technology is transitioned to the Ground Systems Division. During the extended period of performance of Contract DAAB07-03-C-K619, testing will be performed on the AFPA for a Laser-Radar application. The type of funding is R&DTE and the intended period of performance is from 30 April 2009 to 31 March 2011. This procurement is sole source to the Teledyne Scientific & Imaging LLC (Teledyne), 1049 Camino Dos Rios, Thousand Oaks, California 91360 under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source. The NAICS code for this item is 541712 and the associated size standard to be considered a small business is 500 employees or less. Inspection and Acceptance will be at the source and FOB point is destination. The solicitation number for this requirement will be W15P7T-09-R-P026. All vendors are welcome to respond and responses should be submitted within 15 days of this Synopsis posting. The anticipated date of the Solicitation posting is on or about 6 May 2009.
