Description

The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division intends to enter into negotiations with the sole source of supply, Honeywell International, Clearwater FL under the authority of FAR 6.302-1; only one source of supply. This acquisition will result in a firm fixed price contract for 9 production units Inertial Device Test System (IDTS) for the Consolidated Automated Support System (CASS). The Contractor will assemble, test, produce and deliver IDTS end articles and provide logistics, technical manuals, technical data, software, spares and Support Equipment Recommendations (SERDs). Honeywell is the sole designer, developer and integrator of the IDTS and the only known firm with the unique knowledge, experience, technical data, software and test equipment to provide and integrate the IDTS to the CASS system. The IDTS will provide CASS with the capability to test inertial measurement units and inertial refrence systems both afloat and ashore to the required unit under test accuracy tolerances. The unit must be capable of being mounted to a CASS worksurface. The Government does not own data, drawings, software code or other specifications to permit full and open competition. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all proposals must be received within 15 days of this notice. A determination by the Government not to open this requirement to competition based on responses received to this synopsis is solely with the discretion of the Government.
