Description
The FAA intends to solicit and award a firm-fixed price contract for the above titled project. The work includes but is not limited to: A.Construction of a new ETG Lab in the basement of the facility. B.Expansion of the TRACON room by removing the partition wall and eliminating the existing ETG Lab adjacent to the TRACON. C.Construction of a vestibule at the rear entrance to the base building. D.Replacement of the lockers in the locker room with new 9" wide lockers. E.Installation of sump pumps in manholes near ATCT site. F.Mechanical Work as follows: 1.Relocate UH-5B a.On Room B29, remove and set aside UH-5B. Disconnect all Hot Water (HW) piping, electrical, and controls connections, disconnect UH-5B and set aside ready to install on Room B30. (Remove all necessary piping components to allow re-piping for VAV-004 and tie-in piping to the relocated UH-5B.b.Position UH-5B in Room B30 at about the level of if its original location.c.Position the VAV-004. (See Install VAV-004)d.Coordinate HW piping route with supply air (SA) and return air (RA) duct routing then run HW piping to VAV-004 (Room B29) and UH-5B (Room B30). e.Run electrical power to the UH-5B, providing a local disconnect.f.Connect all piping, electrical power to UH-5B and reconnect to the DDC system. 2.Replace 8 X 8 ER (Exhaust Register)a.Replace 8 X 8 Exhaust Register with two 6 X 6 Exhaust Registers to each serve Rooms B29 and B30. b.Cut exhaust duct to end at 6 feet from the new wall separating Room B30 from Room B30. c.Locate one 6 X 6 ER for Room B30 and connect to the exhaust duct. d.Provide a duct extension for the other 6 X 6 ER serving Room B29. a.Locate 6 X 6 ER on Room B29 and connect to the exhaust duct. 3.Install VAV-004.a.Extend RA duct into Room B29 and install a branch line to Room B30b.Locate VAV-004 and extend the SA duct to it with a branch duct to Room B30.c.Provide an SA duct manifold on the VAV outlet for four supply registers. (with individual balancing dampers) d.Run HW piping to both VAV-004 and UH-5B and connect. e.Run and connect electrical power to the VAV, providing a local disconnect.f.Provide control and tie-in to the DDC system. 4.Install SA Registers a.Coordinate this activity with ceiling installation.b.Locate supply register and tie in to the VAV-004 manifold.c.Test and Balance both supply air and HW flowrates on Room 29 and Room 28 5.Relocate Roof Drain Down Pipe on 2nd floor TRACON (Room 224) a.Cut piping at 2nd Floor plenum (above ceiling).and that between the flooring and the 1st Floor plenumb.Remove existing down pipe.c.Locate new roof drain down pipe. Core the concrete floor to the diameter allowing the down pipe to pass though the floor. Provide pitch of 1/4 inch/foot for horizontal run.d.Reconnect down pipe to terminations at the 2nd floor and 1st floor plenums. G.Contractor shall coordinate all activities, especially in any Air Traffic work areas affected, with the R.E. (Resident Engineer) or C.O.R. (Contracting Officer Representative). H.Prior to demolition of any equipment, disconnect all power and control wiring and/or plumbing. De-energize system, drain system of any liquid, and evacuate all refrigerants.I.Miscellaneous other work as shown on the drawings and specifications in phases as described in summary of work in specifications. J.Construction Phasing. Construction work shall be phased as described below: (a)The ETG lab includes all flooring, ceiling, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, furniture relocation, and other identified work shown in the drawings and specifications associated with this room. (b)Work associated with removing the partition wall, relocating the existing consoles and adding new consoles in the TRACON room: K.New wireway, 4" x 4", mounted under raised floor. L.Four (4) 1p-20A circuit breakers, 120 VAC, 60 Hz in panel CLA in the equipment room on the second floor. M.One (1) 2p-30A circuit breaker, 208 VAC, 60 Hz, one (1) 1p-30A circuit breaker, 120 VAC, 60 Hz, and two (2) 1p-20A circuit breakers, 120 VAC, 60 Hz in panel CLB in the TRACON room on the second floor. N.Sixteen (16) down lights, 6" horizontal open compact fluorescent, 277 VAC, 2-26 watts quad tube, specular clear reflector, bar hangers for 2 feet grid T-bar, radio interference filter. Each fixture shall be equipped with 5% high performance electronic fluorescent dimming ballast 277 VAC, 2 lamps. O.Two (2) aisle lights, compact fluorescent, 277 VAC, 1-13 watts quad tube, with textureblack louvered faceplate, mounted at 18" above finished floor. Each fixture shall be equipped with 5% high performance electronic fluorescent dimming ballast 277 VAC, 1 lamp. P.Four (4) fluorescent dimmer switches (4), single pole, 277 VAC, 8A, slide-to-off with white wall plate. Q.Three (3) 2p-15A circuit breakers, 208 VAC, 60 Hz, and seven (7) 1p-20A circuit breakers, 120 VAC, 60 Hz in panel CLE in room B03. R.Two (2) 1p-20A circuit breakers, 277 VAC, 60 Hz in panel EHA in room B06. S.Relocate five (5) existing duplex receptacles in room B29 an approximate distance of 15 feet. T.Five (5) duplex receptacles in room B29, 20A, 120 VAC, Hubbell, Catalog # 5352. U.Provide signal reference grounding grid. For details see drawing CMH-GL-E-2602-E12. V.One (1) Multi-Point Ground plate. W.Interconnect ground plates with #4/0 AWG insulated copper cable in the new ETG lab and the existing main ground plate in room B06. X.Manual starter for VAV-004, 1hp, 120 VAC. Y.Miscellaneous work as described on the project drawings. Z.All electrical work shall be in accordance with NEC 2008, NFPA 780, FAA-C-1217f, and FAA-STD-19e.All work to be completed in accordance with the drawings and specifications.
