- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command intends to negotiate a delivery order for a life of type buy of obsolete parts under the Basic Ordering Agreement N00019-05-G-0026 with the McDonnell Douglas Corporation a Wholly Owned Subsidiary of the Boeing Company (MDC), on a sole source basis. MDC is the original equipment manufacturer for the F/A-18 and the sole designer, developer, and supplier of the F/A 18 aircraft, its systems and is the integrator of GFE, weaponry and communications systems. As such, MDC is the only know source that possesses the peculiar engineering capability, resources, expertise, intricate knowledge, data, tooling, and special test equipment necessary to produce and manufacture the conversion kits to support fleet needs and satisfy the Government’s minimum requirements.
