Description
Temporary Animal Housing We are looking for temporary animal housing to be used in biomedical research facility to house rodents. The space must be big enough to house 300 cages on ventilated racks with 650 mice. There should be the capacity to add an isolation wall to separate immunocompromised rodents from the rest of the population if deemed necessary. This housing must be able to maintain AAALAC standards in HVAC and humidity controls. It must contain a HVAC system that will maintain a set point from 65 to 80 degrees with +/- 2 degrees, and all rooms should have separate temperature controls. Humidity control maintains a range of 30% to 70% RH in animal rooms. The housing must be suitable for a Vermont environment, both summer and winter. There should be a fire alarm system installed into the unit that can be connected to the VA alarm system. The housing must be able to be secured; a lock should be able to be installed by a VA employee. The housing should come complete with ventilated racks, disposable cages and disposable bottles. The housing should be equipped with a drain and compatible with the following services brought to the mobile unit: 208 volt 3 phase, 4 wire electrical to each building, of up to a 300 amp service. Water will be 1 " line, and a 4" waste drain line. (PLEASE NOTE:) This is not a Request for Proposal, the Government in seeking information for planning purposes, and this sources sought does not constitute a solicitation, or a commitment by the Government to later publish a solicitation. The Government is under no obligation to award a contract as a result of this sources sought announcement. A determination not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice will be made solely at the discretion of the Government.
