Description
MODIFICATION to Previous SolicitationThe Bidding material/drawings will be available on/about April 10, 2009 electronically. The Cincinnati VA Medical Center will be accepting sealed bids on or about May 13, 2009. The Contractor shall furnish all necessary labor, tools, materials, equipment, transportation, permits, licenses and supervision for Project # 539-318, Construction of a Community Living Center - Nursing Home Replacement Unit, at the VA Medical Center, Cincinnati, OH 45220 in accordance with the specifications and drawings. THIS IS A SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE. Work includes but is not limited to: furnish all labor, tools, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to construct a Community Living Center as per the specifications and drawings. Construction includes, Item 1 (base bid), Relocate Community Living Center: Contractor shall completely prepare the site for the building operations, including demolition and removal of existing structures, and furnish labor, materials and equipment necessary to construct the Community Living Center. Work includes but is not limited to architectural, interior finishes, plumbing, mechanical and electrical work as shown and as specified. This project has five (5) bid deducts: Deduct Alternate No. 1: All work in Bid Item 1, Base Bid except DELETE all labor and materials associated with providing a permanent enclosed connecting corridor between the new Community Living Center and the existing hospital building, Building No. 1, and replace it with a temporary enclosed corridor as indicated in the Drawings. Construction time shall be unchanged. Deduct Alternate No. 2: All work in Bid Item 1, Base Bid except DELETE all work as specified in Deduct Alternate No. 1 and DELETE the hydraulic passenger elevator. Construction time shall be unchanged. Deduct Alternate No. 3: All work in Bid Item 1, Base Bid except DELETE all work as specified in Deduct Alternates 1 and 2 and DELETE landscape planting in all areas except the interior courtyard. Construction time shall be unchanged. Deduct Alternate No. 4: All work in Bid Item 1, Base Bid except DELETE all work as specified in Deduct Alternates 1, 2, and 3 and DELETE interior finish materials where indicated and replace with alternate interior finish materials as shown. Construction time shall be unchanged. Deduct Alternate No. 5: All work in Bid Item 1, Base Bid except DELETE all work as specified in Deduct Alternates 1, 2, 3, and 4 and DELETE cast stone where indicated on the west elevation on the exterior of Stair 1and replace it with face brick Type B. Estimated time of completion from the notice to proceed (NTP) is 540 calendar days for the base bid. All respondents must be registered in CCR data base, see http://ccr.gov and complete online Reps and Certs at http://orca.bpn.gov. All contractors must be registered in Vets-100 https://vets100.vets.dol.gov/; and in vetbiz at http://www.vetbiz.gov. Ensure your registration on each site is correct, current and has not expired. All questions must be submitted in writing by mail or fax (513-559-3730) on company letterhead, containing a point of contact, the solicitation number and phone and fax numbers and must be addressed to the contracting officer listed and must be received at the issuing office ten (10) or more days prior to bid opening. No e-mails or phone calls. No electronic bids will be accepted. Price range is $5,000,000.00 - $10,000,000.00. NAICS Code is 236220. Bidding material/drawings will be available on/about April 10, 2009 electronically. A Pre-Bid Conference is scheduled on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at the VA Medical Center, Cincinnati, Building #7 which will be followed by a site visit. The Bid Opening date is on/about May 13, 2009. Bidders are advised that it is your responsibility to review and monitor the website frequently to ensure you have the most up to date information, including amendments. Amendments to the solicitation will be posted at this website only. All respondents must obtain amendments at this website, hard copies will not be mailed. The procurement is subject to the availability of funds.
