- This is a SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS. No proposals are being requested or accepted with this synopsis. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile Regional Contracting Center is seeking information regarding capability and availability of potential contractors to construct a Redundant Pump Station at NASAs Michoud Assembly Facility in Orleans Parish, Louisiana. The proposed contract will be awarded based on best value, determined by evaluating source selection factors. The construction value of the project is between $10 and $25M. The scope of the work consists of driving steel sheet piles in a coffer cell arrangement immediately adjacent to an existing levee holding back the back waters of Lake Pontchartrain, dewatering the inside area, excavating to approximately elevation minus 17 and then driving long support piling for the base of the pump station. As part of the pump station the contractor will be required to purchase, deliver and install very high capacity, low head pumps similar to those presently under construction in the Greater New Orleans area. In addition, the contractor will be required to provide large capacity backup generators and set the pump station up to be run either from on station controls and from a distant remote site through the use of telemetry. The purpose of this sources sought synopsis is to determine the availability of qualified contractors to perform these services to include All Small Businesses Concerns. The primary North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code applicable to these requirements is 236220. The Small Business Size Standard is $33,500,000. Please state your small business certifications on the first page of your response to this notice. Offerors are requested to respond to this Sources Sought Synopsis with the following information shall not exceed ten pages: Project information is not to exceed one page per project and should include title location, general description of the project, offerors role, dollar value of the project and the name of the company, agency or Government entity for which the work was performed with contact information (reference name, phone number and e-mail address) 1.Provide from 3 to 5 projects similar in scope to the proposed project where your firm was the prime contractor and that has been completed in the last 5 years or was at least 50% complete on 01 March 09 and furnish the following information on each. a.Contract number b.Pump sizes (greater than 700 BHP) c.Were Sheet piles coffer cells utilized in conjunction with dewatering Interested Offerors shall respond to this Sources Sought Synopsis not later than 15 April 2009.
