- Description
- The United States Coast Guard Maintenance & Logistics Command, Atlantic intends to issue a Commercial Request for Quote (RFQ) for DOCKSIDE Repairs to the USCGC MOBILE BAY (WTGB103). The acquisition will be solicited as a Hub-zone Set-Aside. The Coast Guard intends to conduct the procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, and FAR Subpart 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The simplified acquisition will be issued as a Best Value, Request for Quote (RFQ), on or about APRIL 20, 2009. The solicitation will be issued electronically on the FEDBIZOPPS web page at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. It is incumbent upon contractors to monitor the FEDBIZOPS web page for RFQ release and all subsequent amendments. Please sign up for the Auto Notification service to receive e-mail from FEDBIZOPPS when an action is taken under this solicitation. The small business size standard is less than 1,000 employees. The NAICS Code is 336611. The acquisition is for dockside repairs aboard the USCGC MOBILE BAY (WTGB 103). All work shall be performed at the vessel’s homepier – Municipal Pier, Sturgeon Bay, WI. The performance period is for 43 days, commencing on or about August 03, 2009 thru Sept 14, 2009. The work may consist of the following items: Clean and Inspect Fuel Service Tank,Clean and Inspect Ballast Tanks and Voids,Preserve Paint Locker and Voids,Clean and Inspect Grey Water Holding Tanks,Inspect Steering System, Perform Boat Boom Maintenance,Upgrade Lube Oil Purifier,Renew the VARO, Port and Starboard Search Lights,Renew Bubbler Deck Connection,Inspect Hydraulic Pelican Hook Foundation,Renew bulkhead Insulation in Steering Gear Compartment,Renovate Berthing Spaces,Clean and Inspect Oily Waste Tanks (Barge),Clean and Inspect Sewage Collection and Holding Tanks (Barge),Renew Manhole Cover Fasteners,Clean Shipboard Ventilation Systems (BARGE),Modify Barge Crane (BARGE),Preserve and Disinfect Potable Water Tanks – Partial (BARGE),Preserve Ballast Tanks 100% (BARGE). All welding and brazing shall be accomplished by trained welders, who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures.
