- SCOPE OF WORK: Work consists of fuel treatment activities through POL thinning, fuel break construction, eastern red cedar removal, and thinning & piling. The contractor shall provide any and all labor, equipment, supplies, services, permits, supervision, workman’s compensation, unemployment, and transportation to accomplish projects on the Bessey Ranger District, of the Nebraska National Forest, and on the Hell Canyon Ranger District, of the Black Hills National Forest. PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE: All work included in this contract shall be completed and accepted by the Government no later than October 31, 2011. Operational restrictions apply to portions of work under this contract and are identified in the Supplemental Specifications. LOCATION DESCRIPTION: The project areas included under this contract are located on the Bessey Ranger District, Nebraska National Forest, and the Hell Canyon Ranger District, Black Hills National Forest. Work on the Bessey Ranger District is approximately 12 road miles southwest of Halsey, Nebraska. Work on the Hell Canyon Ranger District is approximately 13 – 25 road miles south, southwest of Custer, South Dakota. LEVEL OF DIFFICULTY: Contractor is encouraged to visit the area prior to submitting pricing to determine level of difficulty such as accessibility, terrain, slope, etc.
