- Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC)-Iowa City, is soliciting and intends to award a firm fixed price contract to provide all professional, technical and investigative services required to prepare working drawings and specifications and provide construction period services for "Recovery Act Energy Upgrades to HVAC System, Bldgs. 40 and 41" at the VAMC in Iowa City, IA. NAICS Code 541330, size standard $4.5 million, applies. This project will set up the existing HVAC systems and exhaust fans in Buildings 40 and 41 for energy recovery. Both are multi-floor research buildings that consist of approximately 21,000 square feet each. Work includes demolition, plumbing, mechanical, electrical and control changes as shown on drawings and specifications. A/E contract will include design (with reviews), reproduction of bid documents, construction period services, final inspections and as-built drawings. Estimated construction cost range is $500,000 to $1,000,000. Area of consideration: Firms must be located within 125 mile radius of the VA Medical Center, Iowa City, IA.
