- The work consists of rehabilitation of South River Dam 25, Toms Branch, in Augusta County, Virginia. The major items of work consist of 1) raising the dam 2 feet; 2) removing the existing concrete riser and replacing it with a new concrete riser; 3) expanding and reconstructing the vegetated auxiliary spillway; and 4) relocating a portion of Toms Dam Circle Road. Items include Turf Reinforcement Mats (19,875 sy), Common Excavation (53,417 cy), Rock Excavation (11,053 cy), Earthfill Class A (40,729 cy), Earthfill Class C (23,741 cy), Topsoiling (58,661 sy), Class 4000 Concrete, Principal Spillway Riser (21.5 cy), Steel Reinforcement (1,228 lbs), Auxiliary Spillway Groundwater Drain (198 lf), iFLOWs Instrumentation Conduit (118 lf), Culvert Conduit (24 lf), Rock riprap (542 ton), Water Control Gates, Project Monument, Permanent Access Road, Construction Access Road, Pavement Repair, Seeding and Mulching. This work is to be completed within 138 calendar days. Estimated price range is $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency. Interested parties may access and download the solicitation files on or about April 20, 2009. The site showing will be May 6, 2009. See Solicitation for additional information.
