Description
The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division (NSWCCD), Acoustic Trials Research Detachment operates the Large Scale Vehicle (LSV) Range which employs large, un-manned, autonomous submarine models to evaluate propeller noise, structural acoustics (overall hull structural vibration), wake production, and maneuvering and powering. The range itself consists of three parts including the Large Scale Vehicle Radiated Noise Data Acquisition and Analysis System (RNDASS). The RNDASS includes preamplified hydrophones which are used with it's Large Scale Vehicle (LSV) arrays for making radiated noise measurements as part of the Large Scale Vehicle Radiated Noise Data Acquisition and Analysis System (RNDASS). The hydrophone units currently employed by the RNDASS are Model ITC-8201C which are manufactured by International Transducer Corporation. NSWCCD intends to negotiate a non-competitive procurement with International Transducer Corporation, Santa Barbara, CA 93111 for the purchase of twelve(12)ITC-8201C units which will be used as direct spare replacement units. In the event of part failure or malfunction during test operations, the OEM parts allow facility technicians to efficiently expedite repairs thereby reducing the cost to the Government resulting from the lost hours of facility operation and lost pro! ductivity hours for operations personnel. A firm-fixed price order is anticipated in accordance with FAR Part 13 procedures. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals or quotes. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals or quotes. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. However, all proposals or quotes received within fifteen days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
