- Description
- The tainter valve is a reverse tainter gate system which includes the valve and control systems. The Contract Work includes furnishing all services, materials and equipment to fabricate new tainter valves (it is projected that 3 to 5 tainter gates will need to be supplied), remove the existing and install the new tainter valves in the navigation locks at The Dalles and John Day Dam. That work shall include, but not be limited to, fabrication and painting of new valves, seals and seal plates, demolition and disposal of the existing grease system (includes all lines and Farval greasing devices), replacement of all trunnion pins and bushings, replacement of crosshead and lifting rod bushings, adjustment of pressure relief valve setpoint (at John Day only) and installation of a new tainter valve. The tainter valve can be transported by road.
