- NASA/JSC has an immediate requirement for a quantity of one (1) P32-PCI-2/I DualChannel 1553 Pass PCI with IRIG.NASA/JSC intends to purchase this requirement directly from the manufacturer, GE Fanuc.It is understood that these unique products are only offered through the manufacturer andthere are no known functional equivalents in the marketplace.All the knowledge isproprietary to GE Fanuc. The Johnson Space Center has utilized GE Fanuc 3200 and P32-PCI-2/I hardware for severalyears.The original products were acquired from SBS. SBS was recently purchased by GEFanuc.Therefore, to ensure continuity of operations, the requested products must beidentical to current hardware (Pass 3200).The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local timeon the above-specified date. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solelyfor the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on acompetitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed efforton a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solelywithin the discretion of the Government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. Communications are tobe sent to the posted e-mail address for the Contracting Officer. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed. See NASA Specific Note "B".
