Description
Colville National Forest, Wilson and South Fork Chewelah Culvert Replacements. The Three Rivers Ranger District on the Colville National Forest located in North Eastern Washington State has a requirement for replacing two existing 36 inches culverts. The project is located in Stevens County, Washington State. The sites are approximately 10 miles from Chewelah and 50 miles from Spokane, Washington (Sections 33 & 24, Township 23 North, Range 41 East). The Contractors shall furnish all management, labor, equipment, supervision, tools, materials, transportation, operating supplies, supervision, workman’s compensation, unemployment insurance and incidentals necessary to perform the work in accordance with the specification and provisions of the contract. The project includes removing two existing 36 inches culverts and replacing with new 7 feet and 9 inch span by 6 feet rise pipe arch culverts on Forest Service Road No. 9517200 at mile posts 0.16 and 0.30. The improvements consists of but are not limited to diversion of the streams, structural excavation, reshaping of the channel inside and outside of the pipes, placement of riprap, installation of corrugated steel pipe arches, embankment and excavation of the roadway approaches, and road surfacing. In-stream work shall be completed between July 1st through September 30, 2009. The project completion date is September 30, 2009. Directions to the site from Spokane, Washington, include traveling north on Highway 395 approximately 50 miles to Chewelah. Turn right on Burnt Valley Road, County Road 2978. Continue on County Road 2978 and after approximately 9 miles the road becomes FS Road 9517000. After approximately 1 mile turn right on Forest Service Road 9517200. The Wilson Creek project is located approximately 0.16 miles up the 9517200 Road and the SF Chewelah Creek project is located approximately 0.30 miles up the 9517200 road. The project is estimated between $250,000 to $500,000. A bid guarantee will be required. The awarded Contractor will have to provide both payment and performance bonds. This project will be advertised as a written request for proposals. Estimated issue date of the solicitation is on or about April 16, 2009. Proposals are estimated to be due May 18, 2009. The actual due date will be listed in the solicitation. The solicitation will be posted on this site. This acquisition is 100% set-aside for HubZone small business concerns. NAICS code is 237990 size standard is $31 million. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which will be considered. An electronic copy of the solicitation will be posted at this site on the issue date.
