Description
Special Notice March 26, 2009 Reference: S5107A-09-T-0001 - Information Technology Management Practices Training for Department of Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA). In accordance with FAR subpart 13.5 the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) intends to issue a sole source contract to Santa Clara University Business in the estimated amount of $300,000.00 over a 5 year period of performance under NAICS: 611310 - Colleges, Universities, and Professional Schools for DCMA Supply Chain Management Center (SCMC). Santa Clara will provide exclusive a course that helps the information systems (IS) workforce develop the necessary skills to be successful in their jobs and advance their career opportunities. This program gives a solid understanding of the many aspects of management. Each student will be exposed to effective management concepts and practices, gain understanding through lively discussion, and increase their skills through practice. In accordance with FAR 6.302-1(2) Santa Clara University is the only responsible source and no other services will satisfy the DCMA's requirement. This is a follow-on requirement. Santa Clara is teaching the course to DCMA-IT personnel. Specific tasks are as follows: The contractor shall use lectures and skill-building activities to d iscover assumptions about managing and how they impact a persons approach and effectiveness. The workforce will develop skills in managing teams and in delivering high team performance. They will also learn how different types of feedback effect performance. This is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties who feel that they possess the capabilities to satisfy this requirement should submit a capability statement demonstrating their abilities to meet this requirement. The information received in response to this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement.
