- Hot water boiler is severely corroded Findings: The boiler that produces domestic hot water for the building is in very poor condition and needs to be replaced or removed from service as soon as possible. The lower portion of the boiler housing including stands and the burner area are severely corroded and some layers are falling off. The propane-fired boiler is Weben Jarco model AJH WB50 with 500 MBH input and 400 MBH output capacity. There is no back up boiler in the building. Recommendations: Provide a propane-fired water boiler replacement of the same output capacity. The new boiler should have a high efficiency rating available at the time of purchase. The boiler shall be complete with controls and burner. Replace sections of any gas, water and drain piping within the immediate vicinity of the existing boiler if their condition is questionable. Insulate all hot water piping provided. Reuse the flue if it si in good condition. A walk-thru is scheduled for April 1st, 2009, Wednesday, at 10:00 a.m. If needed, site vistis will be done by APPOINTMENT ONLY.
