- PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE: The VA National Acquisition Center intends to issue Request for Proposal (RFP) VA-797-09-RP-0041 for an unrestrictive procurement for Mirtazapine for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Department of Defense (DOD), Indian Health Service (IHS) and Bureau of Prisons (BOP). The estimated annual usage is as follows: (1) 114,575 bottles of 15mg Tablets in 30s; (2) 3,686 bottles of 15mg Tablets in 1000s; (3) 191,682 bottles of 30mg Tablets in 30s; (4) 8,446 bottles of 30mg Tablets in 1000s; (5) 58,124 bottles of 45mg Tablets in 30s; and (6) 1,066 bottles of 45mg Tablets in 1000s. The contract period will be for one year plus four pre-priced one-year option periods. The contract items will be distributed through the VA's and DOD's respective Pharmaceutical Prime Vendor Programs. Offerors must state the exact name (name that appears on label) by which the drug will be supplied and have a unique NDC number. Tablets must be compatible with automated dispensing units (Baxter ATC Canisters, Optifil, etc.). All bottles of 100 tablets or less must have a child resistant closure. If the offeror is not a manufacturer, a signed agreement between the offeror and the manufacturer must be submitted with the offer and remain in effect for the duration of the contract period including the option years. Solicitation No VA-797-09-RP-0041 will be electronically issued in commercial item format in accordance with FAR Part 12 on or about May 5, 2009, with a closing date of May 27, 2009. The NAICS code for this procurement is 325412. Any future amendments and other miscellaneous documents will be available electronically for download at the following URL: http://www.fedbizopps.gov. No paper copies of the solicitation will be available, and no telephone requests for paper copies of the solicitation will be accepted.
