- THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO CONTRACTORS UNDER NAVAIR BOA N00019-09-G-0009. The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to award a sole-source Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) task order to General Electric Aircraft Engines (GEAE) under N00019-09-G-0009. The required effort is to demonstrate technologies to reduce Specific Fuel Consumption in F/A-18 aircraft engines. The Navy has designated the F414-GE-400 engine as the demonstration platform for this effort. The contractor shall provide recommendations and plans for the incorporation of these new technologies into current and future F/A-18 aircraft engines. Specifically, the contractor shall: a) demonstrate technologies capable of reducing fuel consumption of the F414-GE-400 engine through a single engine test build, b) quantify the magnitude of actually demonstrated and analytically predicted fuel quantity savings based on test data acquired using those technologies individually and as a full technology suite, c) provide a Fleet incorporation scheme of the technologies, and d) provide a cost estimate for incorporating the technologies, which provides maximum fuel savings in the shortest amount of time.
